France Star Cascarino Joins London City Lionesses
France forward Delphine Cascarino has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with London City Lionesses after leaving San Diego Wave.
The 28-year-old ended her contract with the American club so she could be closer to home. Before moving to the United States in 2024, Cascarino spent her entire career at Lyon, where she enjoyed huge success. She won six Women’s Champions League titles and nine French league titles with the club.
Cascarino has played 86 times for the French national team. She helped France reach the quarter-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Euro 2025, and provided assists in group-stage wins against England and the Netherlands.
Speaking about the move, Cascarino said she has always wanted to play in England, which she called the home of football. She said her goal is to compete in the Champions League with London City and win trophies.
London City Lionesses are playing in the Women’s Super League for the first time this season and are currently seventh in the table.
Head coach Eder Maestre said he is very happy with the signing. He described Cascarino as a dangerous winger who can beat defenders, bring a winning attitude, and use her Champions League experience to help the team achieve its goals.
